Long holiday weekends have often been found as favorites for a getaway, a trip home or catching up on some Z’s. When it comes to bachelor/ette parties, Labor Day Weekend is the Holy Grail! Here at the Bach Capital, we had a special group travel to Nashville all the way from San Francisco, CA for the VIP (Very Important Party) treatment. What does a group of coeds from the Bay Area ask for when traveling to Nashville? A little bit of everything, which is why Bach Weekend took on the West Coast to show just how sweet Southern hospitality, is indeed.
Rockin’ Robin’s Bach Bash began when friend-of-bride Cherlyn & sister-of-bride Laura began the initial stages. Although Cherlyn had been the only member of the group who had previously traveled to Nashville, it was up to her to convince the entire group to make this cross country trek. With the when and where in place, it was time to set the Bash in motion: HOW? (Bach Weekend, duh.)
Prior to the arrival, Cherlyn & Laura consulted with our party planners to get every minute of the VIP weekend on the itinerary. Upon arrival, we met at their hotel on West End to drop off our gift box, pick up glitter balloons (these come into play later) and introduce their means of transportation for the weekend, Joyride Golf Carts. While only some party guests were arriving on Friday, the plan was to eat, drink, and bowl at Pinewood Social, an ultra-chic bar and lounge (a BW fave!) The Bash then took the party to PLAY, where they danced the night away after enjoying of the weekly fabulous Drag shows—Being from San Fran, this was a MUST!
Day 2: A few hangovers were to be expected, but nothing an experienced partier couldn’t handle! Rockin Robin’s crew had brunch at one of downtown’s favorite kitchens, Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant. To prep for day-drinking on Broadway, a hearty brunch at Puckett’s is definitely wise advice. The Bash hopped on the Sprocket Rocket, one of Nashville’s party bikes, while BW took aforementioned glitter balloons to be aired for the décor-saga. After meeting BW party hostess at Acme Feed & Seed for a round of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, The Bash + BW headed to the hotel to begin a decorating frenzy (literally a Pinterest page brought to life) while the bride was getting a blowout treatment. To receive the full affect, Robin was blindfolded before entering the suite mid-makeover, as to not spoil the surprise. Here is one of our fave snapshots from the weekend!
After the Grand Room Reveal, The Bash had a menu created by the team from SILO, a farm-to-table styled Southern bistro, which catered to their Southern palate.
Night 2 was designated for hitting the Honky Tonk Highway, Nashville’s famous row of bars, drinks, and live music—you won’t find many cover charges here and the beer is always cold!
This wasn’t just any weekend—this is Labor Day Weekend, which means there’s still a full day AND night left. Pacing one’s self is a must, and in the South, we like to have picnics. So, BW brought blankets and catered a Nashville original, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, and hosted Rockin Robin’s Bach Bash for a picnic in Centennial Park! While sippin’ on sweet tea, The Bash was serenaded by a local Nashville artist, Caleb Kleibs, for a private concert. Although Nashville is perceived as country music mecca, all styles/influences can be found. While Caleb’s set was acoustic, our Rockin Bash praised his smooth R&B swag. Any bachelorette party is a special reason to celebrate, but having your own private concert in Music City?! Now THAT’s a VIP treatment.
After the private show, The Bash headed to the Corsair Distillery taproom to enjoy a few local craft brews and enjoy the day. A special dinner menu was prepared by a new Nashville favorite 5th & Taylor, while the weekend came to a close by sipping various cocktails at the cozy Rumours East. Monday of Labor Day 2015, The Bash packed up and returned to the West Coast. But the story doesn’t end there! Two weeks later, a special package was delivered to Bach HQ, along with a special note from Cherlyn, in lieu of a wonderful weekend.
Rockin Robin’s Bach Bash could’ve been a memory of ‘her bachelorette party in Nashville’ but thanks to us, it’ll forever be remembered as “Robin’s Bach Weekend.”
